Culinary Arts II students baked two- layer cakes and Keland Vaughn showed them how to make American buttercream, color the icing, ice the cake, and pipe a variety of designs. Thank you so much to Keland Vaughn for sharing her expertise with our students!!!

Culinary Arts students enjoyed providing the hot chocolate bar for the Ackerman Library holiday open house.

FCE 1st and 2nd graders passed 551 AR tests during the three weeks we were in school in November! The feathers on the turkey each represent one test. We are so proud of the readers they've become!

FCE fifth graders used different substances to create physical and chemical changes. They had to observe the changes and decide if the change that took place was physical or chemical.

PACE students from French Camp Elementary School and Weir Elementary School designed and made 3-dimentional Christmas ornaments using a 3-dimentional printer. Then, they decorated them with materials of their choice. They will be on display at the Choctaw County Library in Ackerman throughout the month of December.

Mrs. Joni and Mrs. Frankie’s class at Ackerman Elementary School made 26 birthday blessing boxes for Broken Wings food drive. The students enjoyed collecting and then used an assembly line method to fill each box. Students used a hair dryer to “shrink wrap” plastic on each box. Each box contained cake mix, frosting, a can of soda, candles, plates, candy, birthday card, and instructions for making a cake with the soda. #teamAES

CCCTC is looking like a winter wonderland. A special thank you to Kayla Palmer, SSC.

Students in Culinary Arts enjoyed experimenting with different tastes this week. They made pizzas complete with ingredients with “umami”, a delicious, savory taste that can be found in tomatoes, cheese, and mushrooms.
