Mrs. Chase and Mrs. White's students have adopted a virtual cow from Discovery Diary, which partners with Diary Farms all over the United States. Our virtual cow is from Mauthe Farms in McComb, MS. Our classroom students and teachers voted on what we thought our cow might be. Our calf is a girl, and her name is Maddie. We will follow the calf's growth through the year - learning about the dairy farm and the cow.

After reading The Islanders by Mary Alice Monroe and Angela May, Mrs. Gant's students at Ackerman Elementary School worked on several stations that related to the novel (painting sea turtles, researching specific turtles and creating an informational poster with a plan of conservation with logo, and designing something to help protect sea turtle's nests). They also enjoyed snacks that the main characters enjoyed on their stakeouts. Part 4 #teamAES
