
The flu virus is picking up steam in our state. Here are some ways to keep yourself and your family healthy during this peak flu season
1. Take the time to get your flu shot!
2. Wash your hands often with soap and water.
3. Cover your nose and mouth when you sneeze or cough.
4. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Remember how germs are spread!
5. Try to avoid close contact with people who are sick.


Our SkillsUSA team is preparing for district competition. Mrs. Prisock is working with Terria and Kezia to help prepare them for the job interview competition. They will be interviewed by a panel of judges along with filling out a job application correctly!



Ms. White has several 1st graders at Ackerman Elementary School working on their AR. Students really enjoy the new seating and how Ms. White has the library set up.





Coach Smith has Pre-K students at Ackerman Elementary School having fun while learning about different things. Students line up on color dots, and when their color is called they make their way across the gym imitating the animal or mode of transportation that is called. Today they were kangaroos and race cars!





Mrs. Conner’s 2nd graders at Ackerman Elementary School are doing an excellent job on learning about autobiographies, historical fiction, and realistic fiction.





Sports Medicine and Nursing students have recently started their clinical rotations. They gain valuable experience from their time working in the different areas of Choctaw Regional Medical Center.



Mrs. Bruister’s Tuesday Evening Robotics Class at Ackerman Elementary School is learning a lot about programming and how to make robots run! Keep up the great work.

Students in Mrs. Joni’s class At Ackerman Elementary enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year. Students watched dragon and lion dances, read books, and made lanterns and masks. The students read enough books to get a Bumpers meal and tried using chopsticks to eat their fries.

WES Pre-K students had a great time celebrating the 100th day of school!!





1st-grade students at Weir Elementary use non-standard tools to measure different things in the classroom (tables, shelves, rugs, and each other). They had fun working in teams to accomplish their objective!





Third graders at Weir Elementary learned about the benefits of having a Share Table in the Cafeteria today. They then wrote an opinion piece, sharing their thoughts on the topic and provided reasons and evidence to back up their opinion. Wonderful job 3rd grade!
