​Students in Culinary Arts II experimented with a variety of garnishing techniques in the annual Twinkie Challenge. Students were evaluated on their use of color, texture, composition, and height as they presented the classic Twinkie in an upgraded fashion.

Ackerman Elementary School would like to recognize the Teacher and Paraprofessional of the 2021 - 2022 School Year. Mrs. Shelia Jackson was chosen as the Teacher of the Year. Her colleagues noted her hard work, dedication to students, how she always makes learning fun and engaging, and her love for teaching. Mr. Jeffrey Gammill was chosen as the Paraprofessional of the Year. Colleagues stated how he helps anyone in need, is always working hard to ensure things are getting done, and for always going above and beyond for the school.
