Mrs. Sanders' students at Ackerman Elementary School have been studying the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and Firsthand and Secondhand Accounts. Students have learned a ton about the history of the tree, watched the lighting of past trees, and watched the lighting of this year’s tree. They read secondhand accounts of the history of the event. Students then pretended that they actually attended the lighting Wednesday night in NYC(firsthand account), and they created postcards to family members telling about their experience at the lighting. They really got into this activity and enjoyed it a lot! #teamAES
